Anglesey Freeport moves into delivery

A memorandum between the UK and Welsh governments, Anglesey council and Stena Line released a first £25 million seed tranche, with 5,000 jobs projected by 2030.

The Anglesey Freeport was reported to have moved into its delivery phase after the UK Government, Welsh Government, Isle of Anglesey County Council and Stena Line signed an agreement. A first £25 million seed funding tranche supports seven projects, with a projection of 5,000 jobs by 2030.

Why it matters for contractors

Port, logistics and infrastructure packages are likely to follow. Treat the job projection as a forecast rather than a commitment.
